The Challenge?
JLG’s monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process required extensive manual effort to align the Master Schedule across products, facilities, assembly lines, and forecast groups. With millions of planning intersections to review, schedule adjustments routinely took up to ten days to complete, delaying supplier forecasts and limiting responsiveness. The time-intensive process was largely administrative, reducing the organization’s ability to focus on higher-value analysis and timely decision-making.
Delivering the Solution
QueBIT partnered with JLG to implement a prescriptive planning solution using IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) integrated with iLOG CPLEX optimization. The solution automated Master Schedule alignment by applying optimization logic directly to SIOP inputs, dramatically reducing manual intervention. By leveraging TM1 as a centralized data and control layer, JLG gained faster schedule updates, improved forecast accuracy, and a scalable foundation for future planning and optimization initiatives.
