Unique to Modeled sheets is the ability to download and upload them to preserve designs and reuse as needed. This is most helpful when you wish to reutilize a Modeled sheet from a sandbox or development instance.
Upon downloading a Modeled sheet, an XML file is generated, which can then be opened using a text editor application like Notepad.
Downloaded Modeled sheets can be uploaded to the same instance or different ones. If importing a sheet to the same instance, before clicking the “Upload New Modeled Sheet” button the three areas below in the XML file need to be updated to ensure unique values and no overlap with any existing sheets.
• Code = the name of the Modeled sheet
• Description = the sheet’s description
• Prefix = the account code prefix
These fields can be updated in the Model Sheet Properties as well.
This is another valuable field that can be updated to reflect 0 (a level assigned sheet) or a 1 (a user assigned sheet).
