How can I add a PAx (Planning Analytics for Excel) Action Button to my PAx worksheet?

Clicking the Action Button icon adds a Planning Analytics for Excel Action button to the worksheet (assuming trust is enabled).

 

 

 

 

 

Once a PAx action button is added to your worksheet you can set its properties to recalculate the worksheet or workbook, link to another location or run a TurboIntegrator process.

How do I Update Existing Action Buttons?

If your Perspectives reports have any action buttons, you will need to upgrade those to be PAx compliant buttons (basically turn the button into a native Excel object). IBM does provide a utility to easily upgrade any legacy action buttons (see the screenshot below that shows where you can access the utility in the PAx options). Once connected to the desired TM1 server, you’ll be able to specify a backup and logs location for the conversion process, and then browse to the TM1 Applications folder location where your reports live to apply the conversion. The tool will automatically search across all reports in that location and upgrade any action buttons it finds.
