{"id":3517,"date":"2023-04-12T15:37:04","date_gmt":"2023-04-12T15:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/workday-adaptive-planning-using-workflow\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T17:41:46","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T17:41:46","slug":"workday-adaptive-planning-using-workflow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/workday-adaptive-planning-using-workflow\/","title":{"rendered":"How Do I Use Workflow in Workday Adaptive Planning?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Workflow is a feature that assists with managing data entry by Level and Version. \u00a0It needs to be requested by your Workday Adaptive Planning representative.\u00a0 Once activated, your planning versions are ready to go, but if you wish to utilize Workflow with Actuals you must navigate to the Versions settings under Model Management and select \u201cEnable Workflow\u201d on the root Actuals parent (Workflow is not applicable for sub-actual versions).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Submit &amp; Recall<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Users that have \u201cEditable Sheet Access\u201d assigned to their role are able to submit levels for approval.\u00a0 Workflow applies to both level-assigned sheets and user-assigned sheets.<\/p>\n<p>For level assigned sheets, once a user has completed their data entry for all sheets for a specific level and version,\u00a0 they would navigate to Sheets Overview to submit that level for review.\u00a0 \u00a0They also have the ability to include notes, or to recall submission if needed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1117\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/1-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"217\" height=\"216\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, these capabilities apply for user-assigned sheets, but users would instead navigate to the Assumptions Overview, and rather than submitting a specific level, they would simply choose the desired sheet to submit, for a selected version.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1118\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/2-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"231\" height=\"192\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approve or Reject<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to be an approver of Workflow a user must have the \u201cApprove Levels\u201d permission.\u00a0 Once a level or user assigned sheet is submitted for review, the Workflow manager receives an email notifying them and they are able to review the entered data and either approve or reject it.\u00a0 As a Workflow manager you will have access to \u201cWorkflow\u201d under the Navigation Menu.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Navigation Menu &gt; Workflow<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-1119\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/3-min-1024x402.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"238\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Workflow Status page is separated into two sections, Levels (for level assigned sheets) and Sheets (for user assigned sheets).\u00a0 A Workflow manager has options to <em>Submit<\/em>,<em> Approve<\/em>,<em> Reject<\/em>, or<em> Reset<\/em>.\u00a0 If a parent level is to be submitted or approved, all of its descendants must also be submitted and approved.\u00a0 To reset all workflow, simply click the top level and click <em>Reset<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Five different statuses exist:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-1120\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/4-min-1024x166.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"98\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Workflow is a feature that assists with managing data entry by Level and Version. \u00a0It needs to be requested by your Workday Adaptive Planning representative.\u00a0 Once activated, your planning versions are ready to go, but if you wish to utilize Workflow with Actuals you must navigate to the Versions settings under Model Management and select&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[23],"tags":[43,69,62],"class_list":["post-3517","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-workday-adaptive-planning","tag-administration","tag-workday-adaptive-planning","tag-workday-adaptive-planning-administration"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
