When that number of formulas becomes large enough, tracking down any formula errors can be difficult and time consuming. Luckily, Adaptive provides the <strong>Formula Validation <\/strong>tool to compile all formula errors for a particular version in one place.<\/p>\n<p>To access the Formula Validation tool, navigate to <strong>Modeling &gt; Model Management <\/strong>in the Menu pane. Once in Model Management under <strong>Accounts <\/strong>select <strong>Formula Validation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-721\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FV1j-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"443\" height=\"486\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-722\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FV2j-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"274\" height=\"364\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Settings Section<\/strong> of the Formula Validation tool allows the user to adjust the validation results:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Use the <strong>Version drop-down<\/strong> in the top right of the screen to select a Version (defaults to current working version).<\/li>\n<li>Set the number of errors you would like to view with the <strong>Max Errors<\/strong> dropdown (1 &#8211; 500).<\/li>\n<li>Exclude formulas that reference other cells that have errors with the <strong>Exclude Reference Errors<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If any updates are made using the above refinement tools, make sure to <strong>Refresh<\/strong> your Validations.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-723\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FV3j-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"994\" height=\"169\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Summary Section<\/strong> tells the user how many possible computations could have been run, how many computations were actually run, the time it took to compute the information in the Error Detail Section, and how many errors were found (up to the Max Error value is reached).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-724\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FV4j-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"861\" height=\"115\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Error Details Section<\/strong> will display specific Error Messages at the intersection of Accounts, Levels and Time periods where an Errors Occurred.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-718\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FV5j-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"848\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In order to gather more information on an error, click directly on the error message to open the <strong>Explore Cell <\/strong>window.
