{"id":3501,"date":"2023-04-12T15:37:04","date_gmt":"2023-04-12T15:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/improve-transparency-with-audit-trail-in-workday-adaptive-planning\/"},"modified":"2026-01-22T17:36:45","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T17:36:45","slug":"improve-transparency-with-audit-trail-in-workday-adaptive-planning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/improve-transparency-with-audit-trail-in-workday-adaptive-planning\/","title":{"rendered":"How Do I Use the Audit Trail to Improve Transparency in Workday Adaptive Planning?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, you\u2019re preparing for your executive review meeting and you decide to login to Workday Adaptive Planning one last time to verify that your Forecast looks accurate.\u00a0 Wait, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>WHAT???<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span> This is NOT the same number you were looking at last Friday.\u00a0 What happened?<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t panic!!\u00a0\u00a0 Did you know that you can easily track data changes made within the Workday Adaptive Planning suite?\u00a0 If your current Version is setup to use the \u201c<strong>Audit Trail<\/strong>\u201d functionality, it can be as simple as a few clicks.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with a quick review on CONFIGURATION.<\/p>\n<p>From the <strong>Modeling<\/strong> menu, go to <strong>Versions<\/strong>.\u00a0 On the right side of the screen scroll down to the <strong>Options<\/strong> section.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you\u2019re \u201c<strong>Audit Trail<\/strong>\u201d box is checked, you\u2019re good to go.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>Note:<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span> This setting is not retroactive so it\u2019s good practice to make sure this box is selected when you create a new Version.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-661 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Audit1-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"943\" height=\"522\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To find out what changed, simply create an Audit report.\u00a0 To do this, go to the <strong>Reports<\/strong> menu and click <strong>New Report.\u00a0 <\/strong>Select \u201c<strong>Audit Trail Search<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-662 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Audit2-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"337\" height=\"496\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The default screen takes you to the <strong>BASIC <\/strong>search.\u00a0 Note the link on the TOP RIGHT of the screen that allows you to do a more <strong>ADVANCED<\/strong> search.<\/p>\n<p>For a <strong>BASIC<\/strong> search, make the following selections:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Version<\/li>\n<li>Level<\/li>\n<li>From and To Dates (date range that changes took place)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then click \u201c<strong>Search Audit Trail<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-666\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/audit-trail.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"909\" height=\"525\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The \u00a0results below show that the <strong>North Sales Manager<\/strong> adjusted the <strong>Working Budget &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>Personnel Planning<\/strong> by changing a <strong>New Hire<\/strong> &#8211;
