There are various options that apply to Planning Analytics for Excel<\/a>\u00a0that are recommended to be reviewed and set. These include the following:<\/p>\n

Startup Options<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You can choose your \u201cstartup application<\/em>\u201d. This is nice if your routinely connect to a multiple Planning Analytics environments, but prefer one as your \u201cdefault\u201d. To do this, click on the IBM Planning Analytics<\/strong> menu item then click on Options<\/strong>. The Options<\/strong> dialog box will appear (shown below). Next click on IBM<\/strong> (in the upper left).<\/p>\n

PAx will list all your IBM Connections that you have currently set up. To choose a default, click on the name in the list to select it, then click OK.<\/p>\n

IBM Connections<\/h2>\n

To do anything with data in PAx, you need to create a connection. To do this:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Click on the IBM Planning Analytics<\/strong> menu item then click on Options<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. On the Options dialog, click on IBM, then Add.<\/li>\n
  3. On the Add\/Edit dialog (shown below) you need to enter the Connection URL<\/strong> for the PAW Server (either the computer name or IP address) and a Friendly name<\/strong> of your own choice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
