Items such as broken streetlights or graffiti can be reported to the proper city services department via mobile phone applications, online, social media or a phone call. For this example, we would like to see what the most popular reporting method was for 2017 using a pie chart.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-318 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB1-min-1024x499.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"605\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 &#8211; On the Cognos Analytics home page, tap the New icon at the bottom of the window and click on Dashboard.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-319 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB2-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"114\" height=\"295\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2 &#8211; You see predefined templates that contain grid lines for easy arrangement and alignment of visualizations and other elements in a dashboard. For this example, select the template with the single pane and then click OK.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-320 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB3-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"512\" height=\"277\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3 &#8211; Add the \u201cBoston 311 Calls\u201d data module to the dashboard.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the Data panel, click the plus icon to add a data source<\/li>\n<li>Under Team Content-&gt;Getting Started-&gt;Data, click on \u201cBoston 311 Calls\u201d and \u201cAdd\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-321 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB4-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"464\" height=\"208\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4 &#8211; Once you see the data items in the data pane, drag \u201cSource of\u00a0Request\u201d onto the single pane and drop it on the square that appears in the pane.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-322 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB5-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"440\" height=\"202\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5 &#8211; You now see the list of sources.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-324 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"294\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6 &#8211; Now drag \u201cCount\u201d to the canvas and drop it on the \u201cSource of Request\u201d list. In the column visualization, you see most of the notifications were through Constituent Calls.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-325 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/quebit.com\/askquebit\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/SDB7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"368\" height=\"244\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7 &#8211; You can now change the visualization type.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click on any white space in the column visualization.
