The introduction of access rules in addition to version access have given greater flexibility for Workday Adaptive Planning security. Customers can now be set up security by Level, Account, Version, and up to three custom dimensions. To help administrators troubleshoot access issues the User Access Calculator was created. This will help determine if users have Read, Write, or None access.

This will not help in determining if users have Limited View (cannot view supporting details such as splits, transactions, or rows in modeled sheets) or Full View (data and all supporting details).

In the User Access Calculator, select a single person and then use either the Single Coordinate or Single Dimension modes to calculate access.

The Single Coordinate will check that users access to the Level, Account, and Version selected. If there is security by additional dimensions, that can also be selected. Once the coordinate is selected, click calculate and it will state if the user has READ, WRITE, or NONE.

The Single Dimension will check that users access to the single dimension selected from the drop down. Then it will show that dimension’s elements with what access the user has.
